What We Need From You to Build Your Website

A successful website is a collaboration. To keep projects efficient, on schedule, and within scope, there are a few key things we’ll need from you before and during the build process.

Don’t worry – if you’re missing something, we’ll help guide you through it.

1. Business Information & Goals

We’ll start by understanding your business and what the website needs to accomplish.

This includes:

  • A brief description of your business or organization
  • Your primary goals (leads, information, bookings, credibility, etc.)
  • Target audience or customer type
  • Any competitors or reference websites you like (or dislike)

This helps ensure the site is built with purpose, not guesswork.

2. Page List & Basic Structure

We’ll need confirmation of:

  • The pages you want included (Home, About, Services, Contact, etc.)
  • Any special sections or features you expect
  • Which pages are most important to your business

We’ll help refine structure if needed, but final approval keeps the project moving smoothly.

3. Website Content (Text)

Clients are responsible for providing:

  • Page text (headlines, paragraphs, service descriptions)
  • Contact details and business information
  • Any required legal text (privacy policy, terms, disclaimers, etc.)

We’re happy to:

  • Edit or clean up existing content
  • Help organize text for better clarity
  • Offer copy guidance

Full copywriting services are available as an optional add-on.

4. Branding Assets

If available, please provide:

  • Logo files (preferred formats: SVG, EPS, PNG, Adobe Illustrator)
  • Brand colors and fonts (if established)
  • Any existing brand guidelines

If you don’t have branding yet, that’s okay – branding services can be added or handled separately.

5. Images & Media

You may provide:

  • Photos, graphics, or videos you want included
  • Product images or portfolio items

If needed, we can:

  • Source high-quality stock images
  • Provide photography or video services
  • Help optimize images for web performance

6. Timely Feedback & Approvals

To stay on schedule, we’ll need:

  • Prompt feedback on layouts and revisions
  • Clear approval at key milestones
  • Consolidated feedback when possible

Delays in feedback can affect timelines, so communication is key.

7. Hosting & Access (If Applicable)

If you’re self-hosting, we will need:

  • Hosting login credentials
  • Domain access or DNS permissions

If you’re using WONGA Studios hosting, we handle this for you.

8. Asset Delivery & Communication Policy

To keep projects organized, documented, and on schedule, all website content and assets must be delivered by email.

This includes:

  • Written content (page text, updates, revisions)
  • Images, logos, graphics, and videos
  • Documents, PDFs, or reference materials

Email delivery ensures there is a clear, time-stamped record of what was sent, when it was sent, and by whom, which helps avoid confusion and keeps projects moving efficiently.

Important Notes

  • We do not accept website content via SMS or text message.
Text messages are not a reliable or trackable way to manage website content and revisions.
  • We do not scan hard-copy photos or documents by default.
If physical materials need to be scanned or digitized, this can be provided for an additional charge, quoted in advance.
  • Assets sent through unsupported channels may delay the project timeline until they are properly received by email.

Summary

You bring the business knowledge.

🔹 We handle the design, structure, and technical work.
🔹 Clear communication on both sides keeps things smooth and predictable.
🔹 Email keeps everything documented and organized.
🔹 Text messages don’t.
🔹 These policies protect both the client and WONGA Studios.

Not Sure Where to Start?

Many clients don’t have everything ready on day one – and that’s completely fine. We’ll walk you through what’s needed, step by step, and help fill in any gaps along the way.
