Website Pricing & Scope FAQ

Website pricing can vary based on scope, features, and complexity. This FAQ explains what’s included in our web design packages, what may require additional costs, and how optional add-ons and maintenance plans work – so you know exactly what to expect before a project begins.

All WONGA Studios website packages include:

  • A custom WordPress website
  • A professionally designed layout (not a stock demo)
  • Mobile-responsive design
  • Basic on-page SEO structure
  • Contact forms
  • Performance and usability optimization
  • Launch support

The goal is a solid, professional business website that’s easy to use and easy to maintain.

No. We use WordPress and an advanced commercial builder to create mobile-responsive layouts with animations and font variations. Every site is custom-built and styled to match your brand, content, and goals. We don’t install demo sites and swap logos.

To keep base packages simple and affordable, standard website packages do not include advanced or third-party functionality such as:

  • Online stores or e-commerce (WooCommerce)
  • Booking or appointment scheduling systems
  • Event calendars with ticket sales or registrations
  • Membership or subscription systems
  • Custom web applications or complex integrations

These features can absolutely be added – but they’re quoted separately based on complexity and licensing.

Advanced systems require additional setup, testing, security considerations, and ongoing maintenance. Separating them from base packages ensures:

  • Clear, upfront pricing
  • No surprise costs
  • The right tools are chosen for your specific needs

This approach protects both your budget and the long-term stability of your site.

Basic guidance and structure are included, but full copywriting services are not included by default. If you need help writing or refining content, that can be added as an optional service.

Hosting and ongoing maintenance are optional and billed separately. Some clients prefer to self-host, while others choose a WONGA Studios hosting and care plan for convenience and peace of mind.

Small updates may be included during the initial launch window. Ongoing changes, content updates, or feature additions are handled through:

  • A monthly maintenance plan
  • Or hourly/project-based support

We’ll always discuss this before any work begins.

No long-term contracts are required unless you request an ongoing support or maintenance arrangement. Everything is clearly scoped and approved in advance.

That’s completely normal. Many clients know something needs improvement but aren’t sure where to start. We’ll talk through your goals and recommend the most practical solution – without upselling features you don’t need. We’ve created a page that goes into detail about the thing you need to provide us before we are able to build a website for you. You can read all about it by clicking here.

Local Business Schema is a type of structured data added behind the scenes of a website to help search engines better understand your business. It provides details such as your business name, location, service area, hours, and contact information in a standardized format.

When implemented correctly, Local Business Schema can help improve how your business appears in local search results and supports visibility in platforms like Google Search and Google Business Profile.

You can learn more about the official standard here:
https://schema.org/LocalBusiness

Local Business Schema does not guarantee higher rankings, but it helps search engines clearly interpret your business information and associate your website with local search intent.

Advanced website features like online stores, booking systems, and ticketed events rely on multiple plugins, integrations, and third-party services working together. Regular updates and monitoring help prevent security issues, broken functionality, and compatibility problems after software updates.

Without maintenance, even a previously stable site can stop working correctly over time.

This applies to websites using:

  • E-commerce systems (WooCommerce, online payments, digital products)
  • Booking or scheduling systems (appointments, service calendars, confirmations)
  • Event calendars with ticket sales or registrations

If your website sells, books, schedules, or registers users, it falls into this category.

For websites using advanced or revenue-generating features, a maintenance plan is strongly recommended and may be required depending on complexity.

These systems:

  • Handle payments or customer data
  • Depend on frequent updates
  • Can impact revenue and customer experience if they fail

Ongoing maintenance helps protect both your website and your business.

Most sites with advanced functionality are best supported by:

  • Business Care Plan – Suitable for basic stores, booking systems, or small event calendars
  • Pro Care Plan – Recommended for active online stores, ticketed events, or complex booking workflows

We’ll help determine the right plan based on how your site is used.

When paired with an active maintenance plan, coverage may include:

  • WordPress and plugin updates
  • WooCommerce, booking, or ticketing plugin updates
  • Compatibility checks after updates
  • Backup and recovery support
  • Security monitoring and malware scanning
  • Basic troubleshooting if features stop working
  • Priority response for issues affecting sales or bookings

This helps identify and resolve issues quickly – often before customers notice them.

Maintenance plans do not include:

  • Adding new products, events, or services
  • Managing inventory, bookings, or ticket sales
  • Redesigning layouts or workflows
  • Custom feature development
  • Resolving outages caused by third-party services

These items can be handled as separate support or project work when needed.

Yes. Some clients choose to self-manage updates. However, WONGA Studios cannot guarantee functionality, security, or response time for advanced systems without an active maintenance plan. A website is like your computer’s operating system (like Windows or macOS). You have to perform occasional updates to keep things working smoothly and securely.

If issues occur on a non-maintained site, support is billed separately and may require additional troubleshooting time.

Clients with an active Business or Pro Care Plan receive:

  • Priority response
  • Faster troubleshooting
  • Access to backups and recovery options

Websites without maintenance coverage are handled on a best-availability basis and billed hourly or by project.

A basic informational website and a site that sells, books, or registers users carry very different levels of risk.

Advanced features involve:

  • Financial transactions
  • Customer data
  • Time-sensitive functionality

Maintenance helps ensure these systems remain secure, compatible, and reliable over time.

Service pricing includes local travel within 50 miles round-trip of WONGA Studios. Projects requiring travel beyond this distance may incur additional travel-related fees, which can include mileage, airfare, lodging, and per-diem expenses depending on the location and duration of the project.

Any required travel costs are discussed, itemized, and approved in advance before work is scheduled. No travel expenses are incurred without prior client approval.

  • If it’s a professional business website, it’s included.
  • If it sells, books, tickets, or automates complex workflows, it’s an add-on.

Clear, honest, and no surprises.
